  • Breathing problems. These are more likely if you have experienced them before when taking other painkillers such as ibuprofen and aspirin

  • A serious condition that can make blood more acidic (called metabolic acidosis), in patients with severe illness using paracetamol

    Overdosage:

In case of overdose by paracetamol/acetaminophen call a local poison control centre or get medical help right away. Quick medical attention is critical even if you do not notice any signs or symptoms.

    Drug interactions:

Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medicine if you are taking any prescribed drugs; particularly metoclopramide or domperidone (for nausea or vomiting) or colestyramine (to lower blood cholesterol).
If you take blood thinning medications (anticoagulants e.g. warfarin) and you need to take a pain reliever on a daily basis, talk to your doctor because of the risk of bleeding. But you can still take occasional doses of acetaminophen tablets at the same time as anticoagulants.
Please inform your physician or pharmacist if you are taking antibiotic flucloxacillin, due to a serious risk of blood and fluid abnormality (metabolic acidosis) that must have urgent treatment.
